As the Commonwealth Government's response to the challenge of depression in Australia, in addition to information for Professionals, Carers and Consumers, here you can also find out about a range of projects being undertaken around Australia.

The Black Dog Institute
The Black Dog Institute have launched their new website!
You will find a wealth of information on depression and other mood disorders. As part of the Prince of Wales Hospital in NSW, this website provides a reliable information resource (with a 'clinical' perspective) and also offers the opportunity to participate in a variety of research projects investigating mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder, etc). You will also find information about their Consumer and Community Resource Centre.

Blues Pages: Information on Depression
This website provides information about depression, treatments, resources and prevention to consumers. It was developed by the Centre for Mental Health Research (CMHR), Australian National University (ANU) and CSIRO Mathematical & Information Sciences (CMIS).

SANE
SANE Australia is a national charity helping people seriously affected by mental illness through research, education and campaigning. They have a series of 'fact sheets' you can download, as well as success stories and 'HelplineOnline' - an email based service providing advice over the internet.

Sleep Better
Dr David Morawetz is widely acknowledged as one of Australia's foremost experts on helping people to sleep better without drugs.   You can find out more about his "Sleep Better Without Drugs" self-help program as well as case studies and details of both Australian and overseas research.
