ADA is an organisation for people suffering from and affected by anxiety disorders and phobias. Support groups exist in several NSW regional areas. The support groups are held in a very relaxed atmosphere with sufferers and carers attending.
The Self Help Groups - Triumph Over Phobias (TOP) - is a structured self-exposure program. Groups meet weekly in a relaxed environment of advice and encouragement which enables people with OCD and phobias to learn to eventually react in a controlled way to their obsessions.
The ADA runs
support groups for Osbessive Compulsive Disorders, Triumph Over Phobias (
social, spiders, etc), generalised anxiety disorders and an early intervention
program called Small Steps, which targets primary schools and parents of
children with anxiety issues.
The ADA also offers
a telephone information, referral and support line, as well as email support.
